Making things easy for terrorists
Some of you may recall the awful terror campaign waged against a Staffordshire farmer by animal rights terrorists. One of those convicted was Barry Saul Dickinson, who was passed vehicle registration numbers, and abused his position at the DVLA to match these to names and address. This information was then used by the terrorists to threaten and intimidate any person or business who was associated with the farm that was the target of their hate campaign. Surprisingly as it may seem in todays environment where IT associated government blunder is commonplace, the DVLA system was able to identify who was accessing this information, and he was duly convicted.
However, terrorists, don’t loose heart, as the Government has made it much more simple for you to wage campaigns of terror. Via Neil Herron, we learn;
‘The DVLA holds a full public record of vehicle keeper details. Anyone can set up a ‘Private Parking Enforcement Company’ get a couple of references and they are in business. Register with the British Parking Association and agreed to abide by their voluntary code of practice’ and you are now accessing the names and addresses of persons at will … under the spurious guise of ‘parking enforcement.’
It costs £2.50 a time.’
Jolly good, that’s nice. For a few quid, the Nanny State will assist terrorists in finding out who you are so that they can then go out and firebomb your house and dig up your Granny’s grave.
Christ on a bike. And these wankers want us to trust them with an ID card scheme? Fuck right off.

HH, you never got round to doing your promised diatribe on why LVT is the worst tax, I’d be interested in your response to this…

regarding LVT ~ it’s on it’s way, slowly. I had an interesting meeting this weekend with a Professor who used to teach land valuers as part of his course. He gave me some useful incites about the problems that I hadn’t thought of regarding LVT, which I need to research and possibly include if they hold true. I’ll let you know when it’s completed.
