I am enjoying the BBC / Nu Labour alliance in the Crewe & Nantwich by-election score a massive own goal by insisting that a vote for the Tory candidate is a vote for a ‘toff and Johnny Foreigner’. Great tactics. Presumably, if the Tory candidate was black, a feature also defined by your parents just as your upbringing is, the labour campaign would be ‘don’t vote for the darkie. Or perhaps not.
Dale has this story about a naughty Tory having dinner with Tamsin under false pretences. I loved this bit;
Tamsin’s children also asked “how can a millionaire represent you” and “who would want a millionaire as their representative?” I was unsure if they were just parroting what there mum had said or if they were saying this to be supportive of their mum.
You can imagine the fantastic parenting that has resulted in such genius.
‘Mummy, when I grow up I want to be a successful businessman’
‘Don’t do that dear, it may prevent you from becoming an MP’
Ah, the politics of envy. Nice to see that raise its ugly head again. Much better we were all unsuccessful and unfulfilled, rather than be thought of as a, shock horror, millionaire.

I really hope that Labour suffer a crushing defeat after the way they behaved.
Then again, if Labour tried to compete on policy they’d suffer another crushing defeat.
Happy days for the Conservatives!
Someone just remind me how many millions Bliar is worth …
Stark choice. Do you want an MP with inherited wealth or one with inherited privilege? I’d go for inherited wealth as the least-bad option.
“just parroting what there Mum said”
Shouldn’t there be a [sic] in there somewhere?
