I realise that Obama / McCain is a Hobson’s choice, but I simply don’t trust this guy. He reminds me of Tony Blair, lots of photogenic pish and no clear policy statements (what the fuck does ‘change we can believe in’ actually mean?). I suspect, like Blair, he will be a typical big spend, low on freedoms, socialist prick.
Anyone who discusses the 2nd Amendment with regards to ‘hunting’ is a dangerous person, ignorant of how America became, and remained, the land of the free. You can’t intern an armed population, which, deep down, is why lefty’s are so pro gun control. The state should run your life, should enforce its will with the implied threat of violence hiding behind its cheerful smile, and armed citizens are a threat to this. I should know, we were disarmed, bit by bit, after the 1st World War. Why did it begin then? The government was afraid of a Communist revolution. They were afraid of the people. This balance had to be reversed.
Blair might have turned up in the USA being all nice and supportive, but he treated his own like shit. I suggest you don’t make the same mistakes, but ultimately, it’s none of my business. I can only comment on our experiences ~ so I won’t advise you what to do to prevent it.
On the other hand, he is black, which is an advantage.
