In addition, they plan to kill off a fair chunk of the tourist market, by making it virtually impossible to let out a house as a holiday let without reference to the local masonic lodge planning department.

Obviously, the Campaign for Complete Stasis in Everything because all Change is Bad is all for the idea. I guess that is what you call irony.

Yes Mark Easton, assuming no increase in sales since 2004 (which kinda jars with the whole point of BBC / Nu Labour alliance story and figures) , the ‘cost’ is minus £11 Billion ~ not including VAT***, taxes on wages of staff, company taxes, etc etc etc.

Any other issues are matters for the individual (in terms of his or her health), or the law courts (if they are unable to control themselves).

There do appear to be a rash of stories at the moment completely blowing the ’scientific consensus’ argument out of the water. Obviously, the BBC / Nu Labour alliance have invested so much political capital in AGW that they don’t cover stories like these and still portray the argument as ’skeptics / deniers V scientific consensus’, but do go bananas over Ofcom rulings. What they will do if those who don’t think there is a human element to climate change turn out to be correct, or the human element turns out to be minimal, I don’t know, as their credibility will be fairly knackered. Still, that would then be the least of our worries if idiots like this lot have managed to crash us into the kind of authoritarian, backwards looking, pious society that they dream of. I have noticed an increasing tendency to refer to it as action needed foor ‘climate change and energy security’, a phrase that can then be reversed, and the AGW bit quietly dropped over time, allowing them to continue to call for their crazy, anti free market policies, and hoping we don’t notice that for a long time, the emperor has had no clothes..

It comes to something when the BBC / Nu Labour alliance is even less balanced than the Gruniod.

The BBC / Nu Labour alliance attempts to cleanse the countryside of industry, in order to clear the way for a construction of a Champagne socialist playground (and to settle a few old scores), and to heard non compliant people into ‘mini ghetto’s’ (under the guise of ‘global warming’ and ‘Eco Towns’) has had it’s first mini victory today.

I had the great misfortune tonight to have to listen to ‘The Late Show
With Rob Underwood’ on BBC Radio Nottingham. One of tonight’s phone in questions was how simply awful it was that car manuals have their tyre pressures in BAR, while many (free) tyre inflating machines at supermarkets, etc, have the nerve to only give pressure in PSI (although this was questioned by many callers / texters).

One of the NoS’s readers sent me an email of a text message he sent the show, which read;

‘if you are too irresponsible to look up the BAR to PSI conversion for your own car tyres, you may not really be suited to be driving a 1 ton plus vehicle on the road’

Erm… shouldn’t that be an essential element of personal responsibility before you set off? No, course it shouldn’t. We should be responsible to ensure we have the required state documents, an MOT, and TAX, but not actually to make sure we are happy with the safety of our own vehicle. That’s the fault of those free air machines with their pesky confusing dials. If they are not clear enough for 5 year olds, it’s not my fault if I crash. I’m phoning watchdog… etc etc
